Believe it or not, there were a few churches we hadn’t seen in Florence. Both churches that we visited today are treasures. One had an ornate carved wooden ceiling and the other had frescos and gold on the ceiling. There was an area in the back of the church that hubby thought would make a good wine bar. Well, there is wine in church, right?
A cold drink at the top of a building gave us one-of-a-kind views of the duomo and surrounding buildings. We ordered a coke and ginger ale. I don’t remember the bottles being this small!
It is surreal to be walking around the town and look down a street and see the duomo looming in the background. We took a taxi to the top of Piazzale Michelangelo (walked it a few years ago) for a beautiful evening sunset.
Before going back to the hotel, we stopped for limoncello at a nearby bar.
