A Day of Thanks And Giving Back

Thanksgiving is the perfect time of year to reflect on…  whatever is important to you: Making positive changes, commitment to living compassionately, contributions to the community, progress with goals set for the year. It’s time to be thankful for health, fresh air, laughter, sunshine, time, clean water, love, books, the kindness of strangers, sunsets, oceans, bees, music, and so much more. There’s a LOT to be thankful for.

That being said, I’ve had the chance to reflect on this past year and all the positive things that have happened in my life as well as had the opportunity to understand how the struggles not only in my life but other’s lives have been learning lessons.

One example is working at the Hope Diner. The Hope Diner provides meals for those in need once a week. Being a foodie, this was a good match for my talent and an outlet to help others less fortunate. It is so rewarding to be able to bring a little joy to someone else while doing what I love – cooking! Of course, this project is a massive undertaking and cannot be done alone, so I’m extremely grateful for the dedicated team I am privileged to work with to provide nourishment and a smile to those in need.

The team from Westside Italian Cultural Group – best ever!

The recipe for the Pasticcio can be found at PASTICCIO.

Being thankful for friends and family members in your life is not enough. Tell them how thankful you are!

And try to find enjoyment in each day, no matter how small you may think that joy is. It could be opening a door for someone, giving a friendly smile to a stranger (who may need that smile more than you know), appreciating the warmth of the sun on a chilly day, enjoying the laughter of children, or the enthusiasm of a dog happy to see you.

Happy Thanksgiving!
