One In A Melon – Watermelon Pops

There’s nothing better than an old-fashioned popsicle on the 4th of July. Sometimes you just have to go “old school” and make them yourself. This red, white and blue treat is refreshing any day.

Try these refreshing watermelon fruit pops. They only take a few minutes to make. The hard part is waiting for them to freeze. Great for all members of the family. Kids love to help make them (and eat them) too!

Watermelon puree, blueberries, apple, and plum.

Fill molds with watermelon puree mixture and freeze.

Yummy, healthy, and a hit with everyone. Add a splash of vodka into the puree for an adult version. Oh yah!

Ingredients

  • 3 cups watermelon, pureed
  • 1 plum, peeled & sliced
  • 1/2 apple, peeled and chopped small
  • 1/2 cup blueberries

Instructions

  1. Puree watermelon chunks in a blender until smooth. Set aside.
  2. Using 12 popsicle molds, drop fruit medley in each one, making sure each mold is evenly filled.
  3. Pour watermelon puree over the fruits in the molds.
  4. Place a stick in the mold if one is not part of the set and place in the freezer for 7-8 hours.
  5. OPTIONAL: mix all fruits and watermelon puree together and fill molds.

Notes

Feel free to substitute fruit of your choice, keeping watermelon as the base and proportions equal. If popsicles stick in mold, run it under warm water for a second or two.
